I used a photo that I took on one of my many travels, this one was taken while I was in Ghana in 1997. Despite their poverty what struck me most about the children was their happiness and infectious laughter. It serves as a lesson to us all.
This painting was presented to Mr. Shoaib Sultan Khan of the Rural Support Network as a donation to raise funds to help displaced families in Pakistan and India. It will be 'on-loan' to schools in the Cote D'Azur area, starting with the International School of Nice, to raise awareness and open dialogue between children of the Middle Classes on poverty and hardship in other areas of the world.
